Description For this essay, I “channeled” noted theorist, Jerome Bruner, and evaluated a specific unit of instruction as I thought that he would do. After completing research on Bruner and the associated assumptions about learning that his theories of social constructivism favored, I assumed the identity of Bruner and from his viewpoint, reviewed Food Transport Safety Training, noting any agreements or disagreements with the learning theories used in the training.
Rationale I demonstrate my ability to research a noted educational theorist and understand his theoretical models in Response from Bruner. I also demonstrates my ability to apply those models to the overall course design of the training.
Alignment to Career Goals and Professional Standards Because I am interested in workforce training, this particular artifact enabled me to apply my knowledge of educational theories to setting outside the academic world. I was forced to look at online learning differently, and I feel like that experience will serve to make me a stronger designer.
